National Women’s Day

#WomanCrushWednesday, #WomenCrushWednesday, Running

International Women’s Day! It means something different to every individual woman. For me it is the aspect of women uplifting women on a daily basis – supporting each other in the highs and lows. Today I wanted to take a moment for say a special thank you to two women in particular that have changed my life in more ways than one.

Jennifer Kyle (@JBirdRuns)

  • Jennifer and I met through being simultaneously coached by Katie (@Katiesfitscript) over 2 years ago now. We seemed to click right away and automatically became “twinsies” as our personalities were almost identical. Our significant other’s thought we were imaginary text buddies and really doubted if either one of us existed until Jennifer finally came to stay with me 1 year ago for Phoenix Rock and Roll. Jennifer has been my rock since I started my quest for Boston as we both started our journey at the same time and Boston Qualified within weeks of each other (told you twins). I seriously don’t know if I would have made this far without her. She gave me the confidence when I didn’t have enough myself. She supported me and always believed in me even when my doubts were overwhelming. She has been my silent cheerleader and rock to pull from when I am racing. I always know she is tracking on the other end. You don’t find friends in life often that just really get you to the core the good and the not so good qualities. A person that you can share the highs and lows of life and training with step for step. I am so grateful for this woman and seriously cannot wait to hug her in Boston it is going to a long 1.5 year wait!

Ashley Davis (@ahappypace)

  • Ash and I met just last September in person when she and I both were relocated by the Airforce for our husbands jobs. I was nervous our friendship wouldn’t last past our first run especially because I had already planned on being BFFs lol. Luckily that did not happen and as fate would have it she not only became by BFF but one of my greatest blessing in my life and running. Ash is TOUGH and has determination and grit that I have never seen in a human being in my life. If anyone can fight and overcome obstacles it is her. She has taught me that I can capable of so much more than I ever believed in myself and taught me that the fight is worth it at the other end. She is my running partner in crime and also my shoulder to cry on and ear to complain to when things are just not going well. She gave me a place to call home in Ohio and a forever friend. She is truly one of my biggest blessing given to me at a time I really needed it. While fate brought us together I undoubtedly know she will be my best friend forever near or far. She is an incredible woman and seriously one of a kind. You don’t find friends or people like her often in life and I count my blessing everyday that I get to call her my best friend and running partner. I cannot wait to storm our first Boston together in just a short 40 days! I am hoping it is going to be nothing short of AMAZING!

#WomanCrushWednesday – @TayRaeFit

So it has been a while…There is an inverse relationship between life craziness and blogging and thus my lack of blog posts have ensued. Nevertheless here is this week’s #WCW!

This weeks #WCW goes out to TayRaeFit aka Taylor. This young lady is so inspirational and beautiful. You cannot help but love her.

Things I Love about Taylor (@TayRaeFit)

1.Honesty. She shares her high/lows and struggles/triumphs. She is honest in her flaws and her journey and I think it allows others to be able to be more vulnerable in return.

2. Gains. She is so undeniably beautiful and her physique is amazing. This lady puts in the work but metabolically and physically and it shows – she is strong and beautiful. Plus who wouldn’t want her abs – I know I do! 🙂

3. Style. She is a toal cutie. From her Nike Pros, LuluLemon Pants, and Donuts and Deadlifts shirts – her gym attire is always on point! Not to mention she is one that totally rocks short hair and glasses and I am kinda jealous! 😉

2. She is Honest. She share her victories and her stuggles. She has 32K followers on instagram and it is hard to put your flaws and unsucessful runs out there for the “insta world to see” but she does it so she can inspire others that bad days happen but you have to pick yourself up and getting pursuing your dreams.

3. She LOVES running and the sport. She has a passion for running that runs deep. It is not superficial. She reminds you of the beauty of running – why we do it, why we love it, why we long for it. People call us runners crazy but she reminds us just why we are NOT.

#WomanCrushWednesday – Chelsy Cork (FitandFaithfulFC)

Its another #WomanCrushWednesday!!! Today my #WCW is Chelsy Cork also known on instragam as @FitandFaithfulFC. I first found out about Chelsy through my coach KatiesFitScript when she was rocking and supporting her tanks on instragam. I quickly started following her and fell in love with her almost immediately – she is so much more than running/fitness she is a strong and empowering women.

Here are some things I LOVE about Chelsy (FitandFaithfulFC)

1) Her Journey: She is a normal person/runner that has used her struggles and triumphs to inspire others. She has gone from a 5:32:48 (12:40 min/mi) marathon to a 3:31:01 (8:03 min/mi) marathon in 4 years…its just crazy! She has had her ups and down – high and lows – triumps and stuggles and she shares them all honestly. She makes you believe that if she can do it you can do it too. She is the reason I got my butt in gear and decided hey maybe I can make it to Boston. She is the reason I signed up for the Utah Valley Marathon and she is the reason I am going to Run Revel Canyon City to try and qualify again. She is a believer in herself and others and her journey is a testiment to that. She makes you want to dream big and achieve great things.

2) Her Faith: She is honest and open about loving and trusting God. For me she just puts thing in perspective. She uses quotes from the bible in a uplifting manner to apply them to everyday life. She makes you realize that he is right there with you through the stuggles and triumph and everything happens for a reason and in God’s Time. I am not an overly religious person and I am still not great, but she has challenged me to be more faithful and trusting in the Lord and more active in my faith and for that I am grateful.

3) Her Tanks: So her tanks are AMAZING and she donates 10% to charity (how awesome). I have worn them now for several races where I really knew I needed that exta support. Not only are they comfortable and great for exercising they just make your feel empowered. When I wear her tanks I feel her support and the support of the lord and my family.  You can’t ask for more! (Visit Her Shop Here)

I could go on and on about Mrs. Chelsy Cork but I will let you find out for yourself! Check her on instagramTwitterFacebook, or Blog!!!!

#WomanCrushWednesday – CarleeMcDot

So I am going to start my saying. It is amazing seeing women uplift women instead of tear them down. So I am going to try and start doing some #WCW posts to help you guys get to know some of the women I find downright amazing and inspirational! ❤

First Up…CarleeMcDot

Do you ever have those people you have never actually met yet they have a major impact on your life. Well, from the moment I saw CarleeMcDot on instagram I am pretty sure this happened. When she started following me I was like OMG and with our instagram friendship that influence grew even stronger… ❤

So here are some things I LOVE about CarleeMcDot

1) Her Attire: She has made me think twice before laying out my gym outfit every morning and long run and even more so for race day. Her outfits are the BOMB.COM and ALL her training runs and race day outfits are PHENOMENAL. She is the reason I am now obsessed with ProCompression socks and I may even consider rocking a skirt one day due to influence.

2) Her Smile: You know those pepole where their smile lights up the world…Well her’s does. She is so genuine and you can feel it. She makes you want to smile larger, live brighter, and be grateful for everyday and everyone in it.

3) She LOVES Running: and because she loves running so much she makes me love running (even when I don’t). I am pretty sure over this past marathon training cycle and currently I have contemplating giving up all together and then I see her posts about all her runs and I am like if she can do it I can do it and so I go out and run and push myself and try harder. She is just such an inspiration and why things like #WeRunSocial exists (which I also would not have took part in if it wasn’t for her).

Anyways there is a million more great things I could say about Mrs. CarleeMcDot but I think you should all go out and find out all her amazing qualities yourself on Facebook, Instragram, Twitter and Blog!
